The Institute of Mongolian Traditional Medicine, MNUMS was established on 18 September 2023 as a main research unit in the field of Mongolian traditional medicine, with 4 research sections: the Traditional Medicine Diet Therapy Research Section, the Innovation and Prescription Research Section, the Clinical Research Section of TM, and the Traditional Mongolian Medical Heritage and Source Research Section.

Sections

Traditional Medicine Diet Therapy Research Section
Produces food and drinks that preserve the heritage of Mongolian medicine, develops biologically active food supplements, and researches regulatory-impact foods to support healthy lifestyles using traditional medical methods.
Innovation and Prescription Research Section
Researches evidence-based, safe and effective traditional compound prescriptions, and develops technology transfer, intellectual property, and interdisciplinary research in Mongolian traditional medicine.
Clinical Research Section of TM
Conducts preclinical and clinical research on medicinal raw materials and formulas used in traditional medicine, including grants for new bioactive compounds and research on the history of traditional medicine.
